A man who was shot and gravely wounded by socialite Brian Kirumira is out of hospital.
Victor Bitwire, 50 , was late last year rushed to IHK where he received treatment while in coma for over a month after he was shot in the neck by Kirumira alias Brian White near his residence in Buziga, a high-end Kampala suburb.
Brian White opened fire on Bitwire who was in company of a friend as they walked home from a nearest hangout.
Brian White was arrested and charged with attempted murder. He has since been remanded to Luzira prison and will appear in Court on 8th of this month for mention of his case.
Police confirmed Bitwire left hospital 3 days ago and has since recorded a statement about the gruesome incident.
At first media reports indicated that Brian White shot an intruder at his home but police later ascertained that Bitwire and his friend were walking home when Brian White intercepted them outside his gate before opening fire.
He was remanded along with another police officer who is suspected yo have hired a gun to him.
Kampala Metropolitan Police (KMP) spokesman Luke Owoyesigire told this website that it’s Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has taken over the probe.
