FDC race: Besigye aide picks nomination papers to challenge Muntu

Byamugisha picking forms yesterday at FDC offices

Moses Byamugisha, the youngest FDC presidential contender is optimistic the party delegates (voters) will elect him as new president come November 24.

Byamugisha said most of voters and other stalwarts could have undermined his candidature as he traversed the country canvassing support, but last Sunday after a debate held at Nsambya Sharing Hall, the doubting Thomases saw a pontential in him.

“That day which you spend receiving good feedback and words of encouragement after a great performance at a national debate,” he took to his social media page to brag.

He told the audience that he has two approaches to handle the party politics and probably deliver it to State House should he be elected as president on Friday.

“One thing I want to make clear to Ugandans and FDC members is that these two approaches are deliberate. There are things that we are not in position to do at Najjanankumbi; the things that require us to put the regime and its apparatus on much pressure- those things you can do and they close you the next day,” said Byamugisha.

Byamugisha said as president he will swing the party infrastructure behind FDC founder Col Kizza Besigye’s defiance campaign to fight the regime.

” You all know fora like Activists 4 Change (A4C), you remember it, you remember 4 God and my Country (4GC) and the activities that were done under those umbrellas, you know how the Attorney General closed them. There are things we want to do as change agents which cannot be done at Najjanankumbi.”

He added, “that is why we have 2 approaches. My role as party president will be to sit at Najjanankumbi and rally party support behind the people’s government to do its work.”
