Inspector General of Police (IGP) Gen Kale Kayihura has appointed SSP Emilian Kayima as new spokesperson replacing AIGP Asan Kasingye.
On Tuesday morning Kayihura informed his administration that in order to enable Kasingye concentrate on his work as Police Commissar, he was therefore delinking the office of spokesperson from the political commissariate.
The letter tittled; Political Education in the Uganda Police Force in order to enable CPC concentrate on improving the ideological quality of Police Officers and constabulary through political education.
“I am delinking once again the office of spokesperson from political commissariate. The single biggest challenge facing Uganda Police is the dominant negative attitudes, values etc which can only be sustainably cured through political education,” informed the IGP.
“Accordingly I am appointing SSP Emilian Kayima as new Police Spokesperson. The changes take immediate effect.”
AIGP Kasingye has been occupying two positions and thus unable to conduct his work with precision.
Kayima has been the Kampala Metropolitan Police (KMP) mouthpiece.
