Age Limit: Kadaga ‘questions’ Kayihura on who sent commandos to humiliate opposition MPs

In a shift turn of events, the Speaker of Parliament Rt Hon Rebecca Kadaga has asked Police Chief to explain who sent plain clothed security operatives to brutally arrest opposition legislators in September.

In a meeting held on Thursday afternoon between Kadaga and Gen Kale Kayihura, the Speaker sought answers as to who commanded the operation and if the operatives belonged to police or not.

Earlier Kadaga had written to President Museveni, Prime Minister, Minister of Internal Affairs, Inspector General of Police and Commander of the
Special Forces Command, on plain clothed operatives involved in the parliament scuffle in September, their motive and why they were deployed.

In the letter she explained that  the CCTV footage shows that a section of the people seen beating MPs are not attached to parliament
as staff or the sergeant- at –arms.

“I am, therefore, seeking an explanation to the identity,
mission and purpose of the unsolicited forces. I am also seeking an explanation about why they assaulted the members of
Parliament, an explanation why the members were arrested and
transported and confined at police stations,” Kadaga’s letter reads.

Prior to the scuffle Kayihura was spotted within the corridors of Parlaiment but evaded the media.

A day after the nasty incident Kayihura boasted how he had planned the attack.
