Presidential Assistant on Media Affairs Tamale Mirundi has said all legislators who returned shs 29 million to Parlaiment are fools.

A quite number of opposition MPs rejected the money deposited on their accounts meant for facilitation while carrying out consultations in their constituencies on lifting presidential age limit law.

Led by the opposition chief whip and Kira Municipality lawmaker Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda, they convened a press conference at Parlaiment and announced that they were not ready to use the money terming it a bribe.

They argued that they don’t need money to consult the electorate.

Mirundi lashed out at these MPs calling them stupid and probing their sincerity.

He wondered why they never return huge amounts extended to them to buy cars.

Parliament last year disbursed shs 103 million to all legislators and shockingly opposition members bought monster rides and never returned the cash.

“The powerful cars these opposition MPs drive, the salary they receive, the medical bills who pays them?” Queried Mirundi.

Adding that they were not honesty with their voters, instead they should have used the money to finish projects in their constituencies.

“These are the same people who fly out with their wives for medical examination on the expense of government, why don’t they reject that?”

Mirundi launched the scathing attack on Tuesday morning while appearing on NBS TV on his weekly talkshow.

Several other MPs opposed to removal of age cap including those in NRM never returned the money saying they would use to convene meetings to rally masses to reject amending of article 102 (b) of the constitution.
