Age Limit Debacle: Ntungamo district RDC blocks MP Timuzigu from consulting voters

The Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Ntungamo District Justine Mbabazi has stopped the Member of Parliament from carrying out further age limit  consultations following hostility from the voters.

Reports indicate that following overwhelming ‘Togikwatako’ feedback over the weekend in Kibatsi and Itunga Sub Counties  and Monday in Nyabihoko Sub County.

The RDC has since blocked MP Michael Timuzigu from extending the consultation process in Kajara to Rwashamaire, an urban area which has always voted against NRM.

” Other MPs from the district complained that Hon. Timuzigu was causing them problems by consulting openly,” said one of the residents.

Whereas the ruling party top shots resolved to consult a small clique of Ugandans (local leaders), opposition thinks the population was being undermined since its the majority voters whose opinion should be heard.

From the time legislators broke off to consult their constituents whether the constitution reviewed to amend article 102 (b) to scrap age cap, the response from the citizens has been fierce.

Nationals insist that removing age limit law is aiming at favouring one man to rule for life.
