Gun wielding police men have sealed off Rukungiri Chief Magistrates Court in a move to possibly rearrest Dr Kizza Besigye and six other people who were earlier in the day charged with 4 cases.
But Court presided over by Julius Barore dropped the murder charges initially slapped on them by Police before granting them a non cash bail of shs 5 million each.
But a standoff between security and opposition bigwigs ensued at Court forcing Besigye and his co-accused to stay in the Court room.
They suspected Police was planning for their rearrrest if they dared step outside Court premises.
By press time Police has deployed more officers to possibly thwart any efforts of staging a procession.
Besigye had told Police to let him move with his supporters to his home in Rwakabengo a few kilometres from Rukungiri Town.
