There has been a series of twists and turns in Uganda’s political arena.
The latest unprecedented shift of events is the involvement of a known ragga singer Bobi Wine real names Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu in politics after he was elected as Kyadondo East Legislator with a landslide victory in July.
Bobi Wine’s political support surges each day and lately he has ‘grabbed’ the attention of the Head of State Yoweri Kaguta Museveni who wrote a statement responding to the MP’s dossier he penned sometime back about the need for the youth to reclaim the country.
Now, this Website through his close friends has learnt that a city businessman Sulaiman Kabalanga alias SK Mbuga has revealed his intentions to contest for Makindye West Constituency in the next general elections.
The seat is currently occupied by Allan Ssewanyana who shot to limelight as a councillor that aggressively protested the impeachment of Kampala City Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago in 2014.
Ssewanyana an independent lawmaker but DP leaning would later win the MP seat.
He has mantained his stance of denouncing the ruling regime and recently his popularity shot up when he opposed the removal of age limit law.
Many political pundits have observed that it can be quite difficult for any candidate to defeat Ssewanyana in the coming elections.
“I advised Mbuga that he is falling in a ditch. He would better concentrate on growing his business empire,” a pal said.
It remains unclear which political party Mbuga to bank on.
This website couldn’t further establish if Mbuga has a required academic credentials to stand as MP.
