Raymond Mujuni dumps NTV for NBS TV as “Cross-Overs” escalate

Celebrated television reporter Raymond Mujuni has finally made it known that he is dumping NTV for greener pasture at Kamwokya based NBS TV.

The move follows a swirl of rumours that had indicated Raymond was leaving the Nation Media Group television station for  NBS.

Mujuni at the start of last month denied the talk claiming he was serving  a his mandatory 30- day leave after a hectic year where he covered the Rwanda Elections  and the Kasese clashes.

Mujuni this morning broke the news with a carefully crafted statement that announced his departure.

“I am leaving NTV proud of the work we have accomplished as a team in finding the truth. I hold my head high for the opportunity we have had to express the voice of the voiceless, to use our stories in the search for justice and for the balance and editorial fairness we haaccorded everyone, the very basic of journalism,” he wrote.

“I will, in the coming week join a new team principally to build the institution of investigative story telling and find more attractive ways of telling stories to younger and determining audiences – to create the blue ocean of media consumption,” he added.

Among Mujuni’s investigative news stories at NTV, was the story of the Pine Car bond torture ordeal in which a one Katushabe who had defaulted on her payments was tortured to death.

He also covered the South Sudan and Kasese Conflicts, Rwanda and Kenya Elections, and among other big stories.

NBS TV has over the years lured  a number journalists from NTV Uganda. Some of those that have crossed from NTV to NBS include MC Kats, Solomon Sserwanja, Rukh-shana Namuyimbwa, Wisdom Kiyonga and Dean Lubowa Saava.

Competition in the television industry has seen industry players jostling for the small number of creative journalists leading to continued Cross-Overs
