Tension remained high at the Ugandan Parliament on Wednesday as security was embroiled in a scuffle with opposition legislators in the basement.
MP Zake Francis of Mityana Municipality was thumped to pulp and his face injured.
He was rushed to Parliamentary Clinic and received medical treatment.
Zake and his ilk remain resolute that they will fail the reading of controversial age limit motion by Igara West lawmaker Raphael Magezi.
On Tuesday the Speaker of Parliament was prompted to adjourn the plenary after opposition defied her orders and chanted slogans following a scuffle between the ruling party and those opposed to this motion.
Speculation remains high that Wednesday’s sitting will be punctuated with more violence.
