Kampala city Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago has complained of abdominal pain which has intensified to his private parts after he was brutally arrested by police on Thursday.

Lukwago was among government opponents whose homes were besieged as they planned illegal meeting in the city to disrupt age limit debate in parliament, police claimed.

He his planned activities were foiled after policemen arrested him from his residence in Wakaliga, a Kampala suburb.

Lukwago was whisked to Kira road police station before being transferred to Naggalama in Mukono. He was later released without any charge.

Prime Minister Rt Hon Ruhakana Rugunda however described the arrest(s) as preventive measures.

While speaking to media on Friday at Dr. Kizza Besigye’s offices, Lukwago revealed that he feels pain in his testicles due to the torture he was subjected to by policemen inside police vehicle.

“Those goons beat me in the abdomen and lower abdomen,” he said attrracting laughers.

He added that he experiences pain in the testicles as he tries to walk, “those goons squeezed me and I kept crying out.”

Police Standards Unit (PSU) are investigating the manner in which he was arrested, spokesperson Vincent Sekate said.
