Two police officers have been shot dead and several others terribly wounded after robbers raided a bakery in Kalerwe township and took off with millions of shillings.
The incident happened on Saturday evening around 9pm.
According to an eyewitness, the robbers tricked the guards at the facility with a dangerously pretty woman who seduced them and made a leeway for the thieves.
“They didn’t notice the heist was underway until the staff inside the bakery made noise.
The thieves who were armed started firing bullets whixh took out the two officers,” an eyewitness told this website.
Two other (unknown at the time of publication) civilians also got injured by stray bullets.
Police has cordoned off the area and detectives have launched investigations.
Police spokesman AIGP Asan Kasingye wasn’t available for a comment by the time of filing this report.
The shooting incindent comes on the heels of an earlier incident in which several police officers based at Mponye police post were attacked and severely hurt in a Saturday morning attack.
