In a bid to popularize the ongoing ‘bloody’ age limit debate, the ruling NRM party is determined to use any means possible to amend the constitution to pave way for President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s life rule.
After assuring the nation that the army is also behind the removal of age limit, the NRM Members of Parliament behind the Presidential Age Amendment Bill have unveiled an attire to popularize the constitutional amendment around the country.
This website understands that State Minister of Finance for Investment and Privatization, Evelyn Anite is now leading the campaign to tour around the country to sensitize the public.
We are told that NRM has reserved shs 1 billion for this upcoming activity.
The team is set to go out to the public convincing them on the need to have the age limit lifted not only on the president but also the district and sub county local council chairmen, who’s age limit as per the constitution is 35 to 75 years.
“Apart from the t-shirts, the team intends to print posters to successfully execute their mission,” a source said.
The team was Thursday seen dressed up in yellow jerseys with different numbers ranging from 11 to 75+ ready traverse the country to engage Ugandans on the debate.
