Age Limit:  Rowdy journalist, MP Simeo exchange blows on Kabaka’s coronation ceremony

Ntege after he was arrested

Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi was on Monday afternoon treated to a fist-fight when an angry journalist attacked Kassanda South legislator, Simeo Nsubuga, at the 24th coronation ceremony of Buganda King in Buwekula county, Mubende district.

The nasty incident happened as Kabaka made a grand entry to preside over the fete.

His subjects including politicians queued to welcome the him.

MP Nsubuga also lined up to greet the king, a move that angered a youth only identified as Ntege aka Kyuma Kyayesu

Ntege has since turned into an activist of sorts, a deep rooted conservative and a devoted servant of Buganda Kingdom.

He grabbed Nsubuga, who has made a name by advocating for President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s life rule.

Nsubuga a former police officer is among legislators who want article 102 (b) of the constitution to be amended.

“I want to beat him silly. He is ashaming us the Baganda,” Ntege said.

Kabaka’s security swiftly saved Nsubuga of the humiliation and arrested Ntege, whisking him off to unknown destination.

Lawmakers supportive of removing the age cap have in the recent times complained of life threats from opposition fanatic.

“Don’t come her pretending. You betrayed our Kabaka,” Ntege added.
