The ruling party chairman Gen Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has described his long time political competitor Col Kizza Besigye as a selfish politician who only likes using the youth to shed blood.
Museveni openly told NRM supporters who were convened at Kasangati Resort, that Kyadondo East constituency lags behind because the voters have consistently made poor choices while casting their ballot.
For eleven years Kyadondo East has been electing legislators belonging to different affiliations.
While at Kasangati resort on Tuesday afternoon canvassing support for NRM candidate Sitenda Sebalu, Museveni raised names of popular opposition politicians in Kampala as being useless to the electorate.
“You elected Sebaana Kizito, Erias Lukwago, Apollo Kantinti to help you do what?” he asked.
Museveni said that those characters can’t help in effecting the NRM ideology of prosperity for all because they are enemies of change.
“Please make good choices,” he advised.
Kasangati Township is known for its notoriety during the previous walk to work protests.
It has since been become an opposition stronghold.
Political heavyweights in the country spent the better part of their time in the constituency rallying support of their different candidates.
Although the five candidates are vying for the seat, three candidates have so far dominated the race, these include Independent candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine, FDC’s Apollo Kantinti and NRM candidate Sitenda Sebalu.
Tuesday is the last day of campaigns ahead of polling on Thursday- June 29.
