Fallen Rich Gang leader and South Africa based tycoon Ivan Ssemwanga who succumbed to a stroke on early Wednesday morning will be laid to rest at the family’s ancestral home in Kayunga District.
Ivan whose death was a shocker to most Ugandans owing to the fact that the last time he was spotted in Kampala at the close of April and looked healthy will be buried in Nakaliro Village, Kayunga District on Tuesday afternoon.
Tentative burial arrangements unveiled
According to sources close to the family, relatives of the deceased on learning about their family member’s death, held an impromptu burial meeting while coordinating with the South Africa team that includes his ex wife Zari Hassan and younger brother Derrick.
The said meeting was convened at Ivan’s Muyenga residence where a tentative burial program was discussed, and unveiled.
According to the program, the fallen businessman’s body will be flown into Uganda from South Africa on Sunday afternoon aboard South African Airways.
There will then be an overnight vigil at his residence in Muyenga and later a memorial church service at Namirembe Cathedral on Monday morning.
Ivan’s body will then be transported to Nakaliro village in Kayunga district for his final send off service and burial on Tuesday afternoon.
A man full of life
Ssemwanga is survived by three sons together with his ex wife Zari Hassan who incidentally was at his bedside at the time of his demise. Zari is presently co-habiting with Tanzanian artiste Diamond Platinumz.
Ivan who was known for his relentless generosity will be remembered for the huge money-throwing and champagne filled parties among other very notable attributes including donations to the under-privileged.

The deceased was social and easily associated with people from all walks of life.
In Uganda, he was last spotted at Blankets and Wine event at Lugogo Cricket Oval before returning to South Africa where he passed on after two weeks at The Steve Biko Hospital in Johannesburg.
