Kamuli polls: FDC radical youth brutalise Kayihura’s aide

Musumba after casting her vote

The ongoing Kamuli Municipality MP by-election is getting nastier with FDC supporters brutalising police officers.

The latest victim to taste the wrath of these stone wielding FDC radicals is Police Chief Gen Kale Kayihura’s new aide Abraham Sagal who has been deployed in the area to coordinate security.

According to an eyewitness, these radical youth who are moving in gangs surrounded Sagal and unleashed blows before terribly injuring his body guard who intervened to save his boss.

“They are acting like rabid dogs. They are holding batons and others are carrying stones and pelting them at any police officer in their sight,” an eyewitness said.

We are told that Salaam Musumba who had earlier warned that he will sort the police is commanding her supporters to perpetuate violence.

As you read now Musumba has camped at police in Kamuli demanding to be arrested.

“Police however insists they are not interested in her but rather hunting stonehearted FDC fans who ripped apart Sagal and his body guard,” a source said.

Jotham Taremwa, Electoral Commission spokesman when contacted for a comment on Salaam Musumba’s earlier accusations that EC has failed its job.

He said, “Salaam Musumba instead is the one fuelling violence. After voting she refused to dip her thumb in ink a mark to show that he has voted. Her action violates section 20 of parliamentary elections act,” he said before hanging up on phone.
