Police constable Richard Kaweesa was on Thursday killed by a police chopper at Entebbe in training.
He was attached to tactical unit of the counter terrorism while undergoing drills and failed to grasp a rope.
He was hit by another chopper that was landing at the airstrip.
The new police spokesperson AIGP Asan Kasingye confirmed the incident, which he said happened at Kajjansi Airstrip.
“They were undergoing drills and he was dropped by a chopper. Unfortunately, he was hit by another chopper that was landing at the airstrip, “Kasingye told this website.
“We rushed him to Kampala International Hospital where he breathed his last.”
Kasingye however, said he had little information about the incident and would get back to us for more details.
This is the second incident involving a police chopper in a few days. At the start of last week, a low flying police helicopter destroyed a house in Mutungo, a Kampala suburb, while holding position to land Entebbe Airport.
One of the pilots of the aircraft Capt Aziz Sentamu said they were flying low in order to avoid a low cloud. The now deceased police spokesperson Andrew Felix Kaweesi promised at the time, that police would rebuild the house whose roof was thrown off.
