Ugandans are yet to come to terms with the brutal murder of AIGP Andrew Felix Kaweesi.
The fallen Police spokesman was assassinated together with his body guard Kenneth Erau and driver Godfrey Mambewa last Friday near his home in Kulambiro, a suburb of Kampala.
The killers are still at large however security has arrested a number of suspects.
The grisly incident leaves hallmarks of previous murders of prominent government officials and businessmen sparking a wide debate whether the assassinations are executed by same people.
Kaweesi’s death has generated numerous theories as to why the senior officer was shot.
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni while eulogizing the deceased at his residence in Kulambiro expressed anger over criminals who have penetrated security particularly Police.
Museveni said these criminals are used by bad cops to eliminate fellow officers. He ordered IGP Gen Kale Kayihura to hastily clean the Force.
The media has since Kaweesi’s unfortunate demise published a number of reports as to what could have compelled the unknown killers to pull the trigger.
Some reports indicate that Kaweesi had foiled dubious procurement deals conducted by top officers and therefore he was perceived as a threat.
Other reports have it that Kaweesi had used his position to amass wealth through illegal channels.
With Police yet to bust the racket of these heatless killers, a number of questions still linger many heads.
These are unanswered questions in this puzzle;
The recent development is that Kaweesi feared for his life and confided in a certain priest that someone vowed to kill him, so did Kaweesi ever reveal this to his wife?
And which priest?
When did Kaweesi tell the priest?
What did the priest do? Did he report the matter to the authorities?
After the death has the priest told anyone the details he shared with Late Kaweesi..
Did Kaweesi tell his bodyguard about this matter so that he could be alert to combat any possible attack?
Has Police asked Kaweesi’s wife Annette if she knew about the threats her hubby received?
If Kaweesi received threats, did he divulge this to his bosses and possibly seek heavy deployment and a patrol truck?
If Kaweesi didn’t tell his boss or the wife, was suspicious of them too?
And if he told them what did they do?
As AIGP did he have guards at home?
If yes, the shooting happened a few metres from his home and lasted for 10 minutes as reported in the media..why didn’t they intervene to save his boss?
Is an AIGP entitled to a patrol car?
If not why?
Reports further indicate that Kaweesi had powerful weapons (AK47) in car boot, did he have them?
Has police established the type of weapons the assailants used?
Has police ascertained Kaweesi’s last movements?
Where is Kaweesi’s phone?
What was his last call he received or made?
IGP Kayihura told media that he last talked to Kaweesi on the fateful Friday morning. After talking to his boss how many people did Kaweesi talk to on phone until his death?
The shooting lasted for 10 minutes did Kaweesi attempt to call anyone for help?
