The Leader of Opposition (loP) in Parliament Hon Winnie Kizza is considering recalling Hon Anita Among as Vice Chairperson of Parliamentary Committee on Commissions, Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises (COSASE.
TrumpetNews has reliably learnt that the decision to drop Anita is being fuelled by the National Executive Committee (NEC) of FDC, her former party which plays a veiled role in the appointment of Parliamentary committee heads.
The LoP Winnie Kizza seeks advice from the party while selecting chairpersons and their deputies.
Our source in FDC told us that the party accuses Among of over stepping her powers using the position to solicit money from a number of government officials whose names are implicated in scandals so as they are exonerated.
This Bukedea woman legislator has had a tainted past while still in FDC.
“She was always accused of leaking party secrets to the regime in exchange of money. The FDC officials always wondered how government always busted and foiled their planned political activities,” a source said.
Anita is FDC leaning who however was quoted in the media praising President Yoweri Museveni.
“Anita will do anything to get money,” a source said.
Recently Anita appeared in the local newspaper headlines has having masterminded the killing of a number of people in her district.
A source further added while probing government Authorities like UNRA and URA, Anita would secretly meet those implicated and promise to shield them from being investigated or being lenient while appearing before the committee.
“We have been informed of her ill actions and as party we are discussing and soon we will come up with a decision which will be forwarded to the LoP to take action,” a source said.
However, TrumpetNews couldn’t independently verify these claims.
FDC spokesman Hon Ssemujju Ibrahim Nganda couldn’t be reached for a comment.
The LoP was yet to respond to our repeated calls by the time of filing this report.
