Kaweesi shooting; another suspected killer arrested in DRC

Kayihura lays a wreath on a coffin containing his junior's remains

Police chief Lt Gen Kale Kayihura has on Tuesday afternoon told mourners in Kitwekyanjovu, Kyazanga, Lwengo district that a suspected killer has been intercepted trying to cross boarder in Western Uganda to neighbouring DRC.

Kayihura was speaking on the send off of his junior Andrew Felix Kaweesi who breathed his last this past Friday after gun men showered his car with bullets leaving 3 occupants lifeless.

Kayihura was reacting to criticism that Police has failed to bust killers of Kaweesi whose style of execution bears a hallmark of previous murders.

“Some people have been saying that Kayihura is sleeping; I am not sleeping; the police force is not sleeping,” he said.

“Even as we speak now, we have arrested some people. In fact this morning one of them was arrested while trying to run to Congo (DRC).

Kayihura, declining to reveal more details said that Police has arrested a bunch of suspects in the covert operation.

This confirms our story which we published yesterday that two suspected killers are in custody.

They were apprehended by Police and its sister security agencies.

The burial was attended by hundreds of masses from all corners of the country.
