Kitgum Woman Member of Parliament Beatrice Anywar has suffered major injuries this afternoon after being involved in a road accident which occurred at Labayango, Paloga Sub County, Lamwo District.
Anywar was from the burial of Acholi educationist Michael Ocan, also the husband to Gulu Woman MP, Ms Betty Aol Ocan, who died of heart failure last week at St Marys’ Hospital Lacor.
The deceased was buried at his ancestral home in Potika Village Agoro Sub County, Lamwo District.
Lamwo District Chairperson Komakech Ogwok, said the vehicle overturned injuring its occupants.
Anywar was rushed to Kitgum Hospital for medical attention and others.
By the time of filing this report, medical officers who were attending to Anywar at the private wing declined to talk to journalists.
Aswa Regional Police Commander, Bosco Otim said police were still investigating the cause of the accident.
This is the second time she is involved in car crash after 2011 when she almost lost her life.
It took the intervention of President Yoweri Museveni who footed her medical bills.
