Janet, Ethiopia First Lady Roman discuss issues of mutual interest

The Minister of Education and Spports Hon Janet Museveni Kataha held a one on one talks with Ethiopia First Lady Roman Tesfaye Abner at State House, Entebbe earlier this afternoon.

Roman together with her husband the Ethiopia Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn are in the country on a 3 day state visit on the invite of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

While addressing a joint press briefing with Museveni, Desalegn hailed President Museveni as a stabilizing force on the African continent, everyone looks up to.

“This is an important country in Africa and we look up to you for instilling peace, stability and prosperity on the continent. We follow in your steps,” he said.

Adding that the volatile Horn of African region needs to cooperate with countries like Uganda to help them in the fight against wrong elements like the Al Shabaab terrorists in Somalia.

Desalegn also praised the Uganda People’s Forces under AMISOM for doing a good job in liberating Somalia from the claws of the terror group that had made the entire Horn of Africa insecure.

“This is the only peacekeeping mission in the world that has made progress and we appreciate your support. You have sacrificed for the success and peace in Somalia.”

As the two principals deliberated on issues that hurting the African continent, their wives held parallel talks on matters affecting the African woman.

After the meeting, Janet posted on her twitter page, “I had a side meeting with H.E Roman Tesfaye Abner of Ethiopia where we discussed issues of mutual interest.”

Roman has been leading the crusade against cancer globally.
