The Red Pepper directors yesterday resolved to temporarily halt publication of Hello Tabloid, TrumpetNews has learnt.
The decision was reached in meeting between the 5 owners and top managers after the newspaper continued to register freefalls in business and subsequently couldn’t sustain its operations because of the weak economy.
“As any other business Hello was started to make profits but it has been struggling on the market,” an official at Namanve told this Website.
Hello becomes the second Pepper publications subsidiary newspaper to be ‘temporarily’ closed after Onion in 2013.
Red Pepper has lately been reporting about the weak economy which has affected many businesses and their proprietors leading to closure.
Another staff who spoke on anonymity said management is contemplating to halt production of other vernacular sister papers; Emulalu, Akapapula and Entasti so as to concentrate on the ‘mother’ Newspaper, Red Pepper to boost its sales and advertising revenue.
It remains unclear whether the employees of affected tabloid will be retained or let go.
