The Parliament of Uganda descended into chaos this morning as ruling party legislators hurled all tribes of insults at FDC secretary for mobilisation Ingrid Turinawe Kamateneti as she supported her bid for EALA seat.
The campaigns which commenced peacefully with candidates soliciting votes turned nasty when the Speaker of Parliament Rt Hon Rebecca Kadaga announced Ingrid as the next campaigner.
The NRM lawmakers immediately pulled out placards reading “no vote from MPigs” and started chanting NO VOTE slogans.
Ingrid looked calm and composed and she kept flashing the two figures as per FDC victory sign.
Kadaga struggled to cause sanity as the MPs clad in yellow shirts and dresses jumped off their seats and crowded the floor of the August House baying for Ingrid’s blood.
These MPs are rattled by previous protests in which activists kept branding them as MPigs.
Not once or twice security has been battling a number of youth attached to FDC with piglets painted in yellow and of certain names certain of MPs written on them.
The belief is that Ingrid together with her supreme leader Kizza Besigye are the masterminds behind.
As kadaga managed to restore calmness, Ingrid began her speech saying she came to the August House expecting to be booed but no one can stop her when she is fighting for her country.
“When I stand for a cause no one can bring me down. Indeed a pig is a pig,” she said attracting more insults from a charged House.
Only Hon Munyagwa Mubarak and Allan Sewanyina were supportive of her manifesto.
