The Pakistani community in Uganda will see off their consular chief this Sunday. According to Angella Katutamba, the tycoon’s daughter says there will be two days of vigil at their Muyenga residence before her father’s body is flown to Mbarara on Saturday for an overnight Vigil at his Rweshishokye Country Club where he will eventually be laid to rest
He was my best friend
Angella, who is still devastated from his late father’s demise says her dad was her best friend. “My sweet darling, best friend has unfortunately passed away this morning at 8am at IHK”. She described her late father.
The late Katatumba was Angella’s best fan even with her lacklustre music career with him appearing at all her performances and financing them.
Cancer took my dad
Bonny succumbed to an unsuccessful colon cancer operation. “He had just had an operation for colon cancer and unfortunately after, he got pneumonia and an asthma attack. He was 70 years old” wrote a tearful Angella on her facebook page
Requiem mass and burial programme set
The Katatumba family this morning announced the programme for send off of their fallen hero. “Thursday 8pm, 23rd February, vigil will be at the Pakistan Consulate Residence in Muyenga, below Hotel Diplomate” wrote Angella Katatumba
Tomorrow, Friday 24th February at 6pm, vigil with the body will be at the Pakistan Consulate Residence in Muyenga. On Saturday February 25th, at 8am there will be mass at Rubaga Cathedral. The body will then be flown to Mbarara.
There will be another mass at Nyamitanga Cathedral on Sunday the 26th February at 1pm, then burial will be the same day at 3pm at Nyakayojjo, Rwekishokye Club.
The late Bonny Katatumba was one of Uganda’s indigenous successful businessmen owning a string of business in the hospitality industry, entertainment, real estate, education, airlines, manufacturing among others.
