Breaking sad news: UPC Secretary General Segganyi is dead

RIP; Segganyi

Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) secretary general Edward Segganyi has this evening succumbed to throat cancer at Mulago Cancer Institute.

TrumpetNews understands that segganyi has been battling fatal disease and last month he was admitted at Mulago until he breathed his last.

The party deputy secretary general Fred Ebil confirmed the sad news saying the body is at Mulago mortuary awaiting the cabinet which will sit tomorrow at the head offices at Uganda House to arrange his last funeral rites.

Segganyi, 50, hails from Mityana.

But not so much is known about his political career.

He becomes the second party secretary general to pass on since 2013 after John Odit who succumbed to massive stroke.

His death is huge blow to UPC president Jimmy Akena’s leadership.
