Case of negligence: Gov’t speaks out on Mityana mother who was abandoned to death for failure to pay shs 5000

RIP; Nansubuga

The public has been up in arms following  sad news how an expectant mum was neglected to death having failed to raise shs 5000 at Mityana Hospital for treatment.

The story has gone viral on internet with many Ugandans wondering how rogue the medics can be.

Angel Nansubuga died at 23 years of age.

Nansubuga Angel reportedly died after she failed to give medics of Mityana General hospital 5000 shillings for treatment.

State House Health monitoring unit has Monday told press at Uganda Media Centre that an intern and senior doctor neglected the deceased.

State House’s Dr Elijah Ssemaganda disclosed that the intern doctor left after receiving the deceased and sending her to the theater, and although he called the senior doctor, he did not show up.

He went further to reveal that the doctor who did not show up Dr Francis Kigongo later in the morning forged documents to show that when he was called he came.

They intend to charge the suspects with negligence that led to the death of the lady.

She died of excessive bleeding a few hours after giving birth to a baby boy.

Relatives however blamed the medics for charging the husband, Steven Kakumba, sh5000 so that they would attend to her.
