Breaking: Ingrid loses FDC EALA polls

Ingrid

Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) secretary for mobilisation Ingrid Turinawe’s hopes of legislating in the East African Parliament have been shattered this afternoon after she lost party internal elections.

She was defeated by Ibi Florence who garnered 20 votes while the self styled iron lady got 18.

This is the second time attempt for Ingrid having been defeated in 2012 despite her closeness to opposition heavy weight Col Kizza Besigye.

This time round there was no doubt she would emerge winner with a landslide. She was the second among  9 contestants; Herbert Mayemba got nil,  same to Augustine ojobile, Wilberforce Kyambadde garnered 7 votes, Patrick Baguma, the party deputy president Western region got 7, Gloria Paga got 5 votes, Innocent Ayo 6 and Joseph Tindebwa 2.

The 9 candidates were selected by National Executive Committee (NEC) ,members a 3rd decision making organ of the party.

Ingrid a strong believer of radicalism assured her fans that even after losing the election she wouldn’t abandon the struggle to remove President YowerI Museveni.

Unlike previously when the election was marred by bribery, chaos and teargas, today’s voting was conducted calmly and successful.
