URA Commissioner General, Doris Akol, has this morning issued a communiqué reshuffling senior managers and commissioners.
The mega reshuffles comes high on heels of a parliamentary probe into the shs 6 billion Akol paid to URA lawyers and other high ranking government officials as bonus (akasimo) for winning oil case against Heritage Oil in London.
Transfers
Robinah Nakakawa, who is reported to have received more than Shs 200 million in presidential handshake, has been moved from Large Taxpayer Office to Service Management. Mr Sirajji Kanyesigye from Compliance Management replaces her at Large Taxpayer office
Irene K Bashabe moves from Tax Investigations to Compliance Management while Mr Mathew Mugabi who has been serving as Executive Assistant to Commissioner General goes to Tax investigations.
Sarah Banage who has been serving as Assistant Commissioner Public and Corporate Affairs was moved to Akol’s office where she will be serving as Executive Assistant to the Commissioner General. She has been replaced with Assistant Commissioner (AC) Human Resources, Vincent Seruma.
William Kiganda from Process Management to Human Resources while Mr James Odong has been transferred from Service Management to Process Management.
She further moved Mr Joseph Mwangala from the Customs Audit to Internal Audit and replaced him with Joseph Oketcho.
Akol also moved a number of managers at the tax body to different departments.
