President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has sacked Internal Security Organisation (ISO) head Brigadier Ronnie Balya.

He has been replaced by Maj (rtd) Kaka Bagyenda. Balya will be appointed ambassador.

According to Chimpreports.com, Maj Kaka has been gathering intelligence for the last 20 years from his base in Kalangala. He owns a commercial property in Kalangala island known as Panorama Cottages and hails from Ibanda District, Western Uganda

The firing of Balya comes against the backdrop of a major UPDF reshuffle that saw high ranking army chiefs redeployed.

It’s said he was not at good terms with Gen Kale Kayihura who was allocated a big chunk of funds for espionage in the wake of the 2010 Kampala terror attacks.
