Coming in: 6 teenagers perish at Karuma

A loaded truck of maize has overturned along Kamdin-Karuma road this evening at 6pm after it lost control in a sharp corner where a renowned Lira businessman Ojok Okullo planted trees.

An eyewitness told TrumpetNews that the owner of the truck used the young boys to load it and asked these teens to sit on top of the vehicle so as to offload them after reaching the destination.

“So far 6 bodies of boys aged 13 to 17 were lying lifeless in the middle of the road,” an eyewitness said,

Adding that the truck driver was speeding reason it veered off the road.

By time of filing this reporter, volunteers were rescuing survivors who escaped with grave injuries.

Police was yet to report to the scene.
