Maverick Makindye West MP, Allan Sewanyana who also doubles as Shadow Cabinet Minister of Sports has been rushed to a hospital in Mombasa with reported stomach complications attributed to food poisoning.
Hon. Allan Sewanyana is currently bedridden at a Mombasa Hospital after he started incessantly throwing up. Sewanyana was part of the team of Uganda Legislators who are representing the country at the 7th Inter-Parliamentary Games Tournament. His family members believe he suffered food poisoning.
A statement confirming the incident appeared on the Parliamentary Twitter page, “Hon. Allan Sewanyana is now fine unlike what was going around that he is in intensive care. He had food poisoning, but he is fine now.”
Sewanyana who was christened “Musajja wa bwiino” owing to his prowess at telling off government joined parliament after trouncing other political bigwigs in the February elections. The DP leaning MP is also a known supporter of Kampala Mayor Erias Lukwago and was very pivotal in fighting for the Mayor’s stay at City Hall when Jennifer Musisi and former Kampala Minister Frank Tumwebaze wanted to oust him
