After breaking ground with their high speed internet and multi-level data bundles, Africell, Uganda’s low-cost telecom this morning introduced a revolutionary call rate of 1 shs per second. With the new rate, Africell users can call any Africell mobile in the country at a flat rate of 1 shs/second, without any additional charges.
The new rate means subscribers can now call without loading a bundle, or without having to wait for a discounted zone or a non-peak hours to make their calls. The 1shs per second rate is all- day, all-night,everyday.
Unlike other operators in the market, Africell runs Uganda’s fastest 4G network and thus offers superior browsing experience, without any call drops. The investment in 4G infrastructure is to overcome all the hassles of communication today, including offering a wide range of different calling and data options, a bigger portfolio of affordable tariff plans, low costs, and good quality calls.
With Africell’s standard rate of 1 shs per second, it is 90% cheaper than all other carriers.
Additionally, Africell offers all subscribers free Africell to Africell calls from 12am to 6am every night, plus other equally affordable offers that are attractive for the subscribers.
Intending to revolutionize the domestic calling space in the Uganda telecom market with this launch, Milad Khairallah, Commercial Director of Africell, said, “Our vision has been to make calling across the country simple, seamless and low-cost for all our subscribers. Our calling rate is the cheapest in Uganda right now. It is also free of typical telecom-related hassles, other charges and differential pricing. Africell has always been the telecom industry trend-setter in terms of pricing, variety of data and voice offers”
Additionally, Africell recently unveiled a triple MBs offer where subscribers earn 3 times more data on their daily recharges of 200MBs and above.
Commenting on future plans for Africell in the market, Milad Khairallah added, “Our aim is to become a smart, one-stop calling solution for people across the Uganda, and our 1 shilling per second is certainly our biggest step in that direction.”
Africell has from inception positioned itself as a low cost operator that provides the most innovative services that are of quality at the most affordable cost, a vision that also been lauded by telecom regulator the Uganda Communications Commission.
